Xavier University, - In a game that was shortened due to lightening the Cincinnati Steam snapped their 7 game losing streak by beating the Lima Locos 3-1. Play was halted in the bottom of the eighth inning with one out and Brandon Besl on second base after his double plated Josh Harrison to extend the Steam lead to 3-1. After a lengthy delay the game was ruled completed and The Steam became victorious extending their record to 17-14.

The Steam were led by Josh Harrison who went 3-4, 2 runs scored and 2 stolen bases on the evening along with Brandon Besl, 2-4 with a double and 2 RBI. Patrick Berndsen went 7 innings to pick up his first victory of the season against no losses. While Dan Weiss came in and pitched the 8th to record his first save. Dan also made a diving catch of a popped up bunt then threw onto first to record a double play in the top of the 8th. Dan’s pitching and defense, along with Patrick’s strong performance on the hill and timely hitting were the keys to the Steam’s victory on this night.
