Steam Take Two from Settlers
Western Hills, OH. - Yesterday in Great Lakes Summer Collegiate baseball action, the Cincinnati Steam defeated the Granville Settlers 3-1 in Game 1 of a doubleheader. In game one, pitcher Nathan Jones improved his record to 2-2 with a solid pitching performance. Tony Kennedy went 2-3 in Game 1 with a double, a run scored, and a stolen base to lead the hitting attack for the Steam. In Game 2 of the doubleheader, the Steam defeated the Settlers 15-1. The Steam opened up the hitting in the bottom of the 5th inning with Adam Pasono’s RBI which scored Josh Harrison and Kory Lonergan. Josh Harrison hit a double in the inning also which scored Kory Lonergan and Tony Kennedy. Reliever Dan Weiss recorded the win for the Steam to improve his record to 3-1. The Steam’s record now stands at 20-15 while Granville’s record drops to 12-24. The Steam will wrap up their home schedule this upcoming Wednesday, July 26th against the Lake Erie Monarchs. This game will start at 7:05 p.m. Then on Thursday, July 27th the Steam will play a doubleheader against Xenia Athletes in Action. Start time for this game will be 5:05 p.m.
