Servants Outlast Steam

(Anderson, IN) The Anderson Servants outlasted the Cincinnati Steam last evening in 10 innings, 7-6.  With the loss the Steam fall to 25-8, but still remain atop the GLSCL by 5 ½ games over the Stark County Terriers.  The Steam had a quality start from Mike Korfhagen who went five strong innings, striking out seven, before tiring in the sixth.  The Servants scored two in the bottom of the sixth to break up the scoreless affair and go ahead 2-0.  Cincinnati countered in the top of the 7th by plating three runs to go up 3-2.  Anderson saw the three and raised Cincinnati one by scoring four in the bottom of the 7th inning to go up 6-3.  The Steam did not go away as they scored one in the eighth and scored two in the ninth off a two run home run by Tommy Nurre, his fourth of the season and now league leader.  With the score tied in the bottom of the tenth, the Servants scored off a bases loaded hit by pitch to produce the game winner.
