Weekend Update—March 4, 2007 
Steam Players come out strong in weekend series

Sophomore infielder Brandon Besl (Ohio) had a solid offensive weekend, boasting a .500 batting average and collecting 5 RBIs, two doubles, a homerun, a stolen base, and 5 runs scored.  On Sunday, Besl went 3-5 with a double, an RBI, and three runs scored.  The Bobcats are on a streak, winning their last three games. 
 

Junior right-hander Michael Lucas (Xavier) pitched a gem Friday, leading the Musketeers to a near upset against No. 1 ranked Vanderbilt.  Lucas pitched a solid 7 innings giving up only six hits, and striking out five.  Steam teammate Brett Greenwell pitched one scoreless inning in relief, as the Musketeers fell 3-2.
